Pre-Listing Stress: Simple Ways To Prepare And Keep Calm

Listing and selling a home can be a stressful and emotional process. It's important to focus on what you can control and take some time to breath. The following three steps are simple ways to help you prepare. If tackled early on, you'll have a shorter task list and less stress on your listing day.

1. Prioritize maintenance: Before you list, take some time to prioritize regular home maintenance. Set an appointment for us to walk through your property together and create a reasonable list of maintenance items to complete prior to listing. Then, create a schedule and plan the process so that maintenance is completed at least a week before we list the house.

2. Provide an inviting space: Create a warm and welcoming environment that buyers can envision themselves in by removing family photos, names, and personalized art and decor.

3. Set realistic expectation: There will be showings and appointments that disrupt your regular routine, there may be surprise repairs and unexpected maintenance costs, the closing date may change, and personalities may clash. There's no way to fully prepare for any and all variables, but we'll discuss variables, minimize surprises, and help you prepare for adjustments.

Above all, remember to be kind to yourself! Whatever comes, we'll get through it together.
