Shop Small Gift Ideas

Saturday-2.jpg

It's Small Business Saturday! I've put together a list of gift ideas from some of my favorite small businesses. The majority of the business listed are local, and all are small business that truly appreciate each and every customer and each and every sale.

For the fun jewelry lover, Clay earrings from Clad in Clay in Steilacoom are lightweight, suitable for sensitive ears, and so fun. I have a few pair and just ordered the Petticoat Dangles from the Etsy Shop. My daughter and I both have sensitive ears and appreciate earrings that don't hurt!

For the fashionista, DuPont's newest shop, 27 West Boutique, offers clothes, accessories, and home decor. Their line of basics is made in the USA, and they offer The Willow Tree bath products made by a milspouse in Olympia and decor created by local milspouse and owner of Mama with a Paintbrush

For the cozy one, LRS.Originals makes gorgeous winter hats and ear warmers. You can purchase a gift that's already made or order something custom. LRS.Originals also creates custom shirts and sweatshirts and some very fun earrings.

Need lots of options? Pine & Moss carries housewares and decor, holiday items, baby gifts, apparel, accessories, bath items, and a variety of local goodies. They frequently sponsors local vendors, and today they have several vendors ready to fill orders. I'm picking up a few Finchberry soaps and some holiday decor from Pine & Moss and grabbing custom orders including Laser Cut Wood Stocking Names by Carla Averill Design,  a wreath by Stars Align Flower Company, and Hot Cocoa Bombs from Sassy Lass Sweets LLC

Need a baby gift or something for a young family member? Order a custom, handmade doll or mask from Reale Girl Designs in DuPont (also available at Mince Mercantile). Mince Mercantile and Pine & Moss also carry a selection of art supplies, books, and toys for the little ones.

Need a fun gift for the champagne lover in your life and some tasty treats? Get a package or two of Teaspressa's Luxe Sugar Cubes Instant Champagne Cocktail Kit and a bottle of champagne from Mince Mercantile. Mince Mercantile has become a staple in DuPont, and their gift section is always full of fun, local gifts including kitchen and barware, handmade dolls and masks from Reale Girl Designs, Christmas decor and gnomes, housewares, and candles and wax melts from Ruth & Rhodes Candles. As an added bonus, Mince makes amazing food, so plan to hit them up when you're ready for a snack or a meal and have food prepared while you shop their gift section.

For the military member and PNW fan, order a custom ornament with military and unit insignia or PNW designs from Ginger & The Huth in DuPont.

For the barre fanatic and fitness lover, Tribe Barre Studio (owned and opperated by my super sweet neice Kaela) offers unlimited online classes for $15 a month and has a free trial.

When you need local, craft beer, DuPont's Forward Operating Base Brewing Company (FOB) is the place to go! Bring a growler, better yet...order a custom growler from RaynorShineDesigns, take it to Forward Operating Base (FOB) Brewing Company, and fill it with one of their house made, craft beers. They also have a rotating selection of local ciders.

For the serious cider lover, head over to Olympia and pick up some local cider from Whitewood Cider Co. They offer several sizes, so pick up a larger growler of one flavor or opt for several smaller sizes for a DIY cider tasting.

Everyone loves chocolate. A nod to my husband's East Coast roots, chocolates from John & Kira's make a fantastic gift. They source their ingredients from urban gardens and small farms around the world. My favorites are the whiskey infused, chocolate ganache filled, chocolate dipped figs. Honestly though, you can't go wrong with any of their items.

For the DIY person, Designs by Mab out of Olympia has a great DIY Macrame Plant Hanger Kit

For your shabby chic and farmhouse friend, head to The Shiplap Shop & Coffee House in Yelm. This local, family run shop showcases a variety of locally made goods, but their farmhouse decor and refinished furniture and decor items steal the show.
