first impressions
Explore the Palisade Village neighborhood of DuPont, and you’ll find streets lined with mature trees that wind into charming loops of homes nestled around grassy green spaces. This stunning home, built by Zetterberg Custom Homes, resides on one such loop, and the oval shaped park at its core provides a beautiful place to relax and a brilliant display of color as the seasons pass.
about the home
I absolutely love working in my own neighborhood. From the mature trees to the open spaces to this home’s unique heart, there’s nothing but good vibes here. The classic Zetterberg home exudes quality construction, thoughtful updates, and years of loving care. It has been prepared for the market with every detail considered, providing a truly turnkey experience.
The home’s exterior is exquisite. Hardiplank siding, gleaming trim, and grid pattern windows are topped by skylights and a roof, newly installed in 2020. The large covered porch provides a warm and welcoming place to quietly relax with refreshments or socialize with neighbors. For a private escape, Around back, a fully fenced yard and patio offer a space to spring and summer in style and would be perfect for backyard BBQs and evening sparklers.
Inside, Western exposure, oversized windows, and a storm door with retractable screen fill the interior with natural light and allow for summer morning breezes to greet the day. The entry opens to vaulted ceilings, formal dining to the left, and an enclosed office on the right. A wall of windows maintains a meaningful connection between the office and the rest of the home, providing space to work, study, or play that’s both private and accessible.
At the back of the home, a second set of French doors lead to the great room. This is a space open to everything from a cozy evening by the fire to an entertaining plan. With oodles of space and a built-in desk, ready to serve as the household command center, it has the organization to keep up with any lifestyle. Episodes of favorite shows or podcasts will be perfectly at home here alongside stories of adventures long past and plans for the future.
A stunning kitchen with extended upper cabinets, granite counters, a roomy island, and new, high-end appliances occupies the head of the great room. Treasured meals and memories await creation on a 6 burner, 2 drawer, smart, gas range. A butler’s pantry between the kitchen and formal dining room and a separate walk-in pantry keep supplies within reach easy. During work or play, a glance out the window over the sink may provide glimpses of the black-capped chickadee that residing in the tree just outside. His “Hey, sweetie” songs are so sweet!
Upstairs, the landing leads to the two secondary bedrooms on the left with a full bathroom between them. One bedroom features a wall of built-ins and a delightful window seat. The other holds to passageway to a covert bonus room with endless potential. Opposite those, the primary suite, with dual closets and an impressive bathroom, offers respite from daily cares. Thanks to a conveniently located laundry room, between all three bedrooms, there’s no need to lug laundry up and down the stairs.
Located blocks from Clocktower Park, where DuPont hosts the majority of town events, less than a half mile from DuPont’s Town Center, and meters from a trailhead leading to a portion of DuPont’s extensive trail system, the home is central to DuPont life and all things PNW.

a little about the community
DuPont is a small town situated next to Joint Base Lewis McChord, about halfway between Tacoma and Olympia. Home to about 10,000 residents, DuPont consists of three distinct areas, Historic Village, El Rancho Madrona, and Northwest Landing. Homes vary by area and range from historic to northwest contemporary.
DuPont’s town center offers places to stay, eat, shop, and do business, and the city is home to an award winning golf course, multiple parks and green spaces, and over 12 miles of trails. For more information, check out the recent DuPont blog.
looking for a fun day in the area
Start the day at Mince Mercantile for coffee and breakfast. Then, pop across the street to visit the Pierce County Library or escape the town on the Sequalichew Creek Trail, where you’ll spot luscious foliage and hear the trickle of water as it flows to the Puget Sound. Time it right, and you may be rewarded with views of sea lions playing between the mainland and Ketron Island or sunning on the Shipwreck when you reach the Sound. Head back the same way you came, or veer right to head up the Switchback to Tree Tunnel Trail to catch views of the water from above. Thai Taste and Farelli’s offer great lunch options, and no matter where you choose to eat, definitely follow up with a stop at Bliss Creamery for phenominal, locally made ice cream. Spend the afternoon shopping at Pine & Moss and 27 West, and then cap the day at Forward Operating Base Brewing Co for BBQ and craft beer or cider. They have growlers available if you prefer to carry out and eat at home. On Saturday, head to Powderworks Park at 9am to join the flagship chapter of wear blue: run to remember to honor fallen service members and walk, ride, or jog the 3 mile route, passing by Patriot’s Landing and greeting the residents that come out each Saturday to cheer on participants and hand out water and dog treats.
